The Return of Cliff Butler!
The true meaning of Roller Derby.

Coach Cliff "Butler" Avery

. For many years I have observed junk skating and did not want anything to do with it. But now we have the opportunity to get it right. The way it should be. The way that works with hard skating and thinking instead of B.S. and fighting. "I want no part of any B.S. in LIFE period!

There are a lot of us older skaters that think this way and did not have anything to do with what is presented and called Derby these days but, for me to be involved with the L.V.H.R...there must be a chance and it will work or I would not even waist my time on it.

.

I promise the educated fans and skaters that I will do my best to present a product that will be viewable and appealing to the eye and not some fly by night B.S.

OK, enough about the weather and so on.... I had a great time skating last night and the game went relatively well with the Guy's team.

The Vegas fans were very receptive of the "REAL" Roller Derby game. The men did not fight at all. I had not been skating in a game in 30 years and if felt good to get back out there once again.

(I even scored a few points!)

I made it back home in one piece...the flights I had to take tired me out and I am gonna rest after getting in our hot tub!

I want to truly thank Lali "O", and Loretta for being so supportive of the cause of bringing the "REAL" Roller Derby back into existence.

I will always be there for them to help out...they will always be able to depend on me for any assistance they may need.

I had a great time...have not thrown a hip check or a knee block in years but I did on Oct. 31st!

I really feel good about what Lali is doing.

Many people took pictures and I am waiting for them too come in.

Love You Bunches,

Coach Cliff "Butler" Avery

Former "Original" SF Bomber Great #36 "Cliff Butler" has agreed to our request and is returning to the bank track this Saturday, for Vegas Halloween Havoc. Cliff will be the second to Frank Apadoca's Las Vegas High Rollers men squad. I spoke with Cliff last night and he stated "there are some moves that has never been seen before that I will do!" Marez and Robles WATCH OUT!

This game is designed to restore the original style of roller derby with hard blocking, skating, athleticism and much excitement. There are more surprises in store that we are not at liberty to say at this time.

Many Vegas media outlets including television, and newspaper have been contacted and will be on hand. We have already received request to interview skaters and the administration thats bringing the game back to Vegas. Radio has been and will continue to air ads about the game and do some live program breaks reporting on the status of the game. There will be a nice feature in Sunday's or Monday's Vegas paper, be on the look out for that.

We are definitely shifting through the many request to film the game. I will keep the group posted on how you may obtain a copy.

IF you can get to Vegas this will be a true game lots of skating, harding blocking and athleticism. One for the ages that you do not want to miss.

ALSO, we will be introducing a few "new" talented skaters as well. Yes we will still have a few of the veterans skating to show the new ones the ropes. But continue to be on the look for a whole new brand, new teams and new skaters in 2010. Get ready ROLLER DERBY in its true form is coming back!!!!
